Patients are seeking new access points to respond to acute healthcare needs and the convenience of walk-in care is relatable and attractive to an increasingly savvy patient population.
Staffed by both physicians and advanced practice providers, urgent care centers and walk-in clinics are growing in numbers to meet increased demand. In our experience with clients nationwide, urgent care centers are finding provider compensation to be one of their top challenges. The top two issues we see are: 1) successful recruitment of providers and 2) alignment of provider incentives with the unique organizational challenges found in an urgent care setting.
